  1. Hi Group,

We are off to an excellent start with
the 2009 Staff Enrichment Program. I am impressed so far with your
insight into the material we've covered, your strong sense of team, and
your overall excitement about the program.

As a follow-up from our session yesterday, I've attached a few of the
documents we discussed. Please review and let me know if you have any
questions. Additionally, I've attached the presentation sign-up sheets
to see when each of you will deliver your presentations. Finally, I've
attached a supervisory update sample that you can use a referral when
you send your supervisors updates throughout the year.

Let me know what questions or comments you have about anything covered
in the program so far. Looking forward to seeing you all on February 10
    if not sooner.

    All the best,

    Ellie

  2. SEP Action Plan

    Hi Group,

Our one-on-one meetings began this week and they are going extremely
well so far. I am pleased to be working with each of you individually on your goals for the year. To that end, I
will be asking you to complete your "Action Plan" after our meeting that
outlines the goals you have for the year and the steps you will take to
    achieve them.

Recall that your assignment from the retreat was to begin "thinking"
about a goal for the year. Once we meet individually, you will be asked
to complete your plan based upon our discussion. I am attaching the
action plan document in case you want to submit it to me electronically
    after our meeting.

Please email me if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ellie

  5. Hi Group,

Hope you are all doing well this week. Some of you know that I've been out with the flu all week. I hope to be back by tomorrow. For those who had one-on-ones that needed to be rescheduled, I'll email you first thing when I am back in the office tomorrow so that we can reschedule right away. I'm looking forward to these meetings!

Meanwhile, this email is to confirm our next SEP meeting on Tuesday, March 10 from 8:30 - noon in the Hacienda Room of the Faculty Center. This meeting will focus on the Meyer's Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and is a great way to learn even more about yourself, your preferences, and how this knowledge applies to your career path and professional goals. Bobbe Yanke will our guest speaker on Tuesday. She is a seasoned career counselor with over 15 years of experience and has been a long-time contributor to the SEP program. You will learn a great deal from her session.

As a reminder, your homework was to complete your elevator pitch/mission statement by next Tuesday. Please email it by then or bring in a hard copy.

Let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing you all next week.

    Stay healthy everyone!

    Ellie

  6. Just a reminder to use your SEP program stipends!! The first deadline for items purchased between February 1 - June 15 is June 20, 2009 which is fast approaching. The second deadline for items purchased between July 1 and October 1, 2009 is October 15, 2009. We strongly encourage you to use some of your stipend in time for the first deadline so that you don't end up running out of things to purchase and losing this "free" money. Please email me if you are not sure how to use the money and would like to brainstorm ideas.

    Take care,

    Ellie
